چکیده

Let k be a field of char(k) 6= 2, and suppose that q ∈ k is not a root of unity. The associated quantum plane [5, §IV.1], denoted by kq[x, y], is defined to be the free k-algebra k{x, y} generated by x and y, modulo the relation yx = qxy. The set of monomials {xy}i, j≥0 is a basis for the underlying k-vector space, and for every pair (i, j) of nonnegative integers, we have yx = qxy . There is a natural action on the quantum plane by the quantum group Uq, which is defined to be the k-algebra generated by the four variables E, F, K, K−1, modulo the relations: KK−1 = K−1K = 1 , KEK−1 = qE , KFK−1 = q−2F , (1)

Non-standard Quantum Groups and Superization

We obtain the universal R-matrix of the non-standard quantum group associated to the Alexander-Conway knot polynomial. We show further that this nonstandard quantum group is related to the super-quantum group Uqgl(1|1) by a general process of superization, which we describe. We also study a twisted variant of this non-standard quantum group and obtain, as a result, a twisted version of Uqgl(1|1...

Entropic Aspects of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations: Classical and Quantum Mechanical Perspectives

There has been increasing research activity in recent years concerning the properties and the applications of nonlinear partial differential equations that are closely related to nonstandard entropic functionals, such as the Tsallis and Renyi entropies. It is well known that some fundamental partial differential equations of applied mathematics and of mathematical physics—such as the linear dif...

Geometric Complexity Theory VII: Nonstandard quantum group for the plethysm problem

This article describes a nonstandard quantum group that may be used to derive a positive formula for the plethysm problem, just as the standard (Drinfeld-Jimbo) quantum group can be used to derive the positive Littlewood-Richardson rule for arbitrary complex semisimple Lie groups. The sequel [GCT8] gives conjecturally correct algorithms to construct canonical bases of the coordinate rings of th...

The Notion of Process in Nonstandard The- Ory and in Whiteheadian Metaphysics

In this article I intend to show that certain aspects of A.N. Whitehead’s philosophy of organism and especially his epochal theory of time, as mainly exposed in his well-known work Process and Reality, can serve in clarify the underlying assumptions that shape nonstandard mathematical theories as such and also as metatheories of quantum mechanics. Concerning the latter issue, I point to an alre...

An approach to nonstandard quantum mechanics

We use nonstandard analysis to formulate quantum mechanics in hyperfinite-dimensional spaces. Self-adjoint operators on hyperfinitedimensional spaces have complete eigensets, and bound states and continuum states of a Hamiltonian can thus be treated on an equal footing. We show that the formalism extends the standard formulation of quantum mechanics. To this end we develop the Loeb-function cal...
